Coming to you this week from 📍 Austin, TX
Hi -
Remember the last time we were in Austin some 5 months ago? Well, what we didn't share was how we left our car behind here (yes, the car that has been serving us so well throughout our US-roadtrip in 2020/2021) while we ventured back to Seattle, Hawaii, Mexico, and beyond!
Alas, the time has come for us to make the one-way flight back to Austin to rescue the car and mozy our way back to Seattle for Thanksgiving. Activate: slow road-trip mode 🛣️
🌲 The holidays are upon us and a new season is in the air - time for change!
- For any of you already thinking about gifting (so responsible!), we know the past two years have kept the desire to travel suppressed for so many. And if you know anyone on the brink of taking to the roads/skies (and maybe even working at the same time), check out our favorite books we know the budding digital nomad in your life will love.
- For our business savvy friends, you'll know that distribution is the crux of scale 😀 And so, we're taking our content to new channels! Check out some of Midori's posts (and re-posts) of our blog posts on Medium. And if you're already an prolific Medium author (we know some of you are), we'd love your tips!
🎧 Badass podcast episodes that will light a fire under your a** this month
- We've mentioned Codie Sanchez and Contrarian Thinking in our newsletter before. About a week ago, I had the privilege of meeting her over Zoom through some mutual acquaintances and... she's every bit the class act I suspected she was. To see her in action talking about structuring a career, embracing modern forms of leverage, and living a badass life, check her out on a recent episode of Eric Jorgensen's Soundbox podcast. All Soundbox episodes here are content-rich and worth the listen!
- For a unique reframe of working life, especially for those of you who find your workdays patterned with endless meetings and little time to think, we've got a treat for you. Take a listen to Sahil Lavingia on Noah Kagan Presents where he discusses truly unconventional ways to run a business. Teaser: he runs a $100m/year business while managing to spend 10+ hours a week practicing figure drawing ✍️. He's also got a brand new book out we've queued up (audiobook) for our road trip back to Seattle!
🏁 We'll keep this one short, folks, because we've got some big changes coming up with the newsletter! As always, check out all previous newsletters on our blog - and keep your eyes in the near future for some updates from us.
Sending you all love and warmth as the winter weather rolls in. And a very happy (belated) Diwali to all of you from us!
📈 Veering up and down the USA unpredictably like the S&P500 this week,
