Coming to you this week from 📍 Seattle, WA

Hi -

Let's cut straight to it. It's been a weird 2 weeks since we last spoke, to say the least. Between devastation on the recent news and the ongoing pattern of anti-Asian violence, we hope everyone is doing OK and taking time to take care of themselves (💪 and 🧠). For our AAPI friends and family, know that we're standing together with you. This has been and will continue to be the home that we love. And check out Trevor Noah's hot take on all this - get ready to applaud and donate (if you can) in agreement!

And now, for a world-class awkward transition from this 👆 to this 👇, let me share with you what has been keeping us in good spirits (and hopefully can for you, too)!

📜 New content we're stoked to share ~

  • We take our mornings seriously. Midori and I are firm believers that how you start the day sets the tone for the hours that follow. We're borderline psycho about it. To give you a glimpse into just how crazy we are (and at the risk of scaring some of you), here's a dose of our 2.5 hour morning routine, Midori edition.
  • For anyone that knows Midori, please chuckle with me at the irony of her authoring such an awesome Seattle Brewery Guide on Instagram. This has all of 'our' favorites. Why is this ironic? Well, if you know, you know (👧+🍺=❌) She really did do a great job with the guide, though 😂

🌟 A nice kick-in-the-butt we needed ~

  • Podcast fans rejoice! I'm not a regular listener of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast, but this particular episode had Midori HYPED before her morning cup of coffee (a miracle!) and, in turn, got me to listen within minutes thereafter. Impressive. Great episode on managing time like a badass and never, ever settling for anything less than constant growth.
  • Fellow bookworms - ever heard of Steven Pressfield? If not, let me open the door to a treasure trove of great writing. I've been re-reading one of my favorites by him: Turning Pro. This book is literally written to be experienced as if a coach (who knows you and what you're ultimately capable of) is whispering in your ear to push harder, do better, and become more. If you're feeling even slightly stuck, this will get you moving.

☕ Making us feel warm and fuzzy ~

  • This one is direct from Midori: "For all my ladies, I've been recently obsessed with LIVELY and their WFH Must-Haves collection! While we're on the go, I've been in the market for comfy PJs, sports bras, and bralettes that are easily washable and something I can wear all day. If you want to up your loungewear game, use my code 'AMB-midoriandakaash' or head to https://wearlively.com/AMB-midoriandakaash for $10 off your first LIVELY purchase."
  • This one blew our mind! Recently stumbled upon this incredible tool from MyHeritage where they employ the most INSANE application of artificial intelligence to bring distant/long-lost family members to life. Fair warning, it's borderline creepy... using a single static photo of a loved one (present or past), the tool can bring them to life in fully animated video glory. It's so good it's actually comforting (and potentially emotional 😏, if you choose to bring a deceased family member to life virtually who you never had the chance to meet in real life). You'll have to try it to believe it (and please tell us what you think)!

As always, thanks for reading. Please let us know what you liked and didn't like by dropping us a line here (little 'r') or via Instagram.

We'll leave you with this dose of 'cute': Scatty, my 15-year old family dog, who Midori and I have been hanging out with for the past month 😛 He's a joy! ..... last dog pic for a while, I promise.

🌞 Hoping someone turns the heat up in Seattle soon 🤞,
