Where in the World?! Wednesday

📆 July 27th, 2022

📍 Seattle, WA

Hi -

One month back in the United States and we are officially fully American again. In fact, not even sure where we put our passports… 🤔The past few weeks have been full of mid-day rounds of golf, plenty of pickleball, and quality time with family and friends basking in balmy 80-degrees sunshine. Needless to say, summers in Seattle are glorious!

So what’s new with us?

☀️ Three of our latest creations for you ~

  • New blog post! We know many of you are braving the summer travel season. In case you haven’t noticed, airports are even more crowded than usual - it seems revenge travel is in the air! So, as your go-to travel enablers, we’ve got a new post for you on the top 8 things to pack in your carry-on luggage so you’re one step ahead in case your bags are lost. The last thing you need is for your well-deserved trip to be ruined by a lost bag!
  • Last week, we were thrilled to see so many of you enjoy our favorite international songs we heard throughout our trip. So, we’re here to bring you more! Check out our international ‘Around the World’ Spotify playlist, chock-full of all the songs we continue to Shazam during our travels. Give it a follow if you can - a good beat always deserves to be shared with the world.
  • We may be home, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t miss Istanbul. We just dropped our latest reel giving you a speed tour of all the food we (thoroughly) enjoyed while in this magnificent city. Oh, what we would give for another fresh lamb-intestine sandwich!

🥒 Two pickleball tips for you (to take up a new hobby!) ~

  • It blows our minds that a formerly little-known sport that was invented here in the PNW, which we casually learned for 2 weeks in 6th grade PE class, is now the fastest growing sport in America. Pickleball courts are full of players of all ages, skill-level, and abilities - and you can count on seeing us out there, too! Midori and I have played at least 3x per week since we’ve been back and are all-in on the pickleball craze. If you don’t know where to start, we can’t recommend enough learning the basic rules (it seriously takes 2 minutes to learn the game) and trying out the game for yourself.
  • If you’re looking for good equipment to get started, a set of paddles and some balls shouldn’t set you back more than $50-$70. Here’s a great starter kit on Amazon that you can scoop up and get started at a pickleball court near you. If you’re local to Seattle and wanna challenge us, drop us a line! 😄

📼 Two videos that made our week ~

  • Marvel alert! Wakanda is back and better than ever. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must check out the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer that dropped last week. It doesn’t give us much in terms of story, but boy does it get us HYPED for this next installment of the MCU.
  • If you’re not already an All-In Podcast fan, it’s worth checking out. These guys have soared in popularity over the past 2 years and recently held an in-personal conference in Miami. Most speaker videos have been released on YouTube, and the session led by Palmer Luckey (most famous for founding Oculus) was particularly of note. He gives a provocative talk on innovation and national defense. The talk takes an interesting turn at the end where potential conflict instead results in maturity, diplomacy, and intellectual honesty we can all strive to aspire to. Hope you enjoy it!

So… we’re not traveling for a few weeks. Are we bummed about it? Surprisingly, no! We’re enjoying our best possible summer in Seattle and making the most of beautiful weather, new activities, and focused productivity.

Whether you’re traveling this summer or not, we hope you’re making the most of these special months and staying cool, too.

Until next time!
