Listen, I love music.

I quote it all the time. I listen to it every day. It gets me out of a bad mood quickly and I dance to it (secretly mostly).

When I'm talking to friends or clients about money I find myself pulling out wisdom or messages from random places, and one of them is from music.

Here's one I'm called to share today that I've been sharing recently:

“Having money isn’t everything… not having it, is.”

Think about it... What's it mean? I will discuss it this way.

For Those who have money, enough money, a good amount of money and comfort with it... Having money is no big deal. Its NOT everything. Its just one thing. One part of life. Not all that important. However, for those who do not have money, a good amount in the bank, a comfortable feeling about it... it is everything. it becomes everything. It consumes them and their mind and emotions and conversations with people; Their 'state', perspective on life and even relationships. It is all based on that fact, that they do not have money.

There.

Wow... So much meaning in one line.

It really resonates with me, because I know what that feels like. I have had money and not had money. I am in a great place about money now and I am very thankful for that. And I remember what it meant (everything) when I didn't have money.

Working hard, doing bad/good or “okay” on paper—but still feeling like life was just a little out of reach. Always calculating if I could afford something. Always feeling that low-key pressure in the background. Always worried about how much I was spending and how much I was getting (or not getting.)

I wouldn't want anyone to be in that place... It was so time consuming for me. So all encompassing... But I'm not there anymore. And I'm very thankful for that.
