1 IDEA FROM ME
I'll be honest, sometimes I really cannot be bothered to do certain things. I think the pandemic has accelerated this side of me.
When I think about it, it's because I'm usually trying to avoid one of the following:
- Screen fatigue
- Burnout
- Being overwhelmed
In a way it is good I am aiming to avoid these things, but sometimes it translates into not getting anything done.
I guess the question is, how do you get the right balance between getting things done and not being overworked?
There's a number of things that come to mind and here they are:
- Being clear of your priorities for the week and working in that order
- Being ruthless about cutting things out
- Creating a routine and schedule that is flexible and achievable
- Making rest a crucial part of your routine
- Going outside and exploring your neighbourhood; staying inside is deadly
- Engaging with others, if you can, following lockdown guidelines
Every time I come back to this list, I'm usually better. But when I don't and I'm too unstructured, things do not workout.
Whether this list works for you or not, have some sort of guidance you stick to reminding you about how to conduct your life right now.
If you haven't noticed already, this pandemic has unveiled that it is the smallest things that count the most...

1 BOOK RECOMMENDATION FROM ME
How Life Works: Why Happy People Are More Successful. How You Can Be Like Them! - Andrew Matthews
I first encountered this book by listening to this Australian guy on stage at a Success Resources event back in 2014/15. I was struck by the name of his book, and thought "Has someone really cracked how life works?"
To be honest, I don't think anyone can fully crack it due to the nuances of life, that's what makes it both beautiful and ugly at the same time, but I do think people have decoded themes and patterns that can help you navigate life better.
This book allows you to understand the fundamentals of life from a psychological, motivational and practical standpoint. It is filled with countless examples, theories and explanations of why things are the way they are.
If you're a little geeky and you want to up your general personal development and psychology knowledge, then get this book!
You will leave this book feeling both informed and inspired! If you want a sneak peek into the inner workings of life you can check out the book via the links below.
