1 Idea, 1 Quote, 1 Book Recommendation

1 IDEA FROM ME πŸ’‘

As a High Performance Coach my focus is on helping people be more than what they can currently see.

It is important that I not only question their reality and help them remove a lot of noise, but act as a sincere strategist and genuine motivator for their cause.

To maintain a level of effectiveness which leads to high performance I need to be brutally honest with them, even when it may appear as challenging.

This skill alone has sky rocked the development of many of my current and past clients, because the root to many people's problems stem from their lack of brutal honesty and acting on it.

I am not shy from this either...

In order for me to be effective as a coach I also need to be brutally honest to myself.

All I can say is, do not feed into the expectations that society places on you, because in reality you are placing it on yourself.

Connect deeply with your authentic self and then ask yourself:

"Is this what I need?"

"Is this what I want?"

This in essence will create intention that starts to define a goal that has been bred from a place of integrity.

Learn to manage this skill because it will help you feel whole and give you a sense of direction when you are feeling lost...

1 QUOTE FROM ME πŸ“

"Rule your mind or your mind will Rule you" β€” Horace

This quote would insinuate that your "mind" is separate from the concept of "you." Whatever the right answer is, train your mind to act in accordance to your intentions.

If you have no intentions it will run like a wild beast in no particular direction. This leads to being unfulfilled, low self-esteem and forms of depression.

1 BOOK RECOMMENDATION FROM ME πŸ“š

Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us - Daniel H Pink

Have you ever wondered what motivates us to do what we do on a daily basis?

This book explains this in very good detail. It has helped me piece together why some people I coach do what they do and how they can increase their performance.

I was coaching a high performing millennial leader for a fast-growing startup and asked them: What motivates you to do what you do?

To my amazement they highlighted the three factors that motivate them in their own words, which were in alignment to Daniel H Pink's work, without any prior knowledge of his work.

My point being made is that we know what they inherently are, but we may not be able to articulate it in the same way. Good articulation leads to a sense of self-awareness and clarity which leads to action and improved outcomes.
