Hello !
On Sunday, we talked about flourishing bodies, and that God cares about our bodies.
At the end of the message, we issued a challenge to choose two small, sustainable things that you could do to move the needle forward toward a healthier body.
In that light, I thought I might share some ideas with you. They're easy, sustainable (you could painlessly add them to your life from here on out), and they'll make you healthier.
- Drink an extra glass of water a day. You can keep a sippy cup with you, drink a big glass when you brush your teeth, or just have water with your dinner instead of pop or juice. Sufficient water consumption has loads of health benefits so take steps toward drinking enough.
- Don't worry about getting the best parking spot. When you have to run to the store, park a few spaces back and enjoy the walk. People like a closer parking spot because they're in a hurry, but circling around the parking lot to park closer usually takes up MORE time. Get those extra steps in, and reap the exercise benefits.
- Plan your day. When you're wrapping up your day, take a minute or two to plan tomorrow. Just pencil in the things you'd like to get done, and the people you'd like to connect with. It only takes a minute, and helps relieve feelings of stress and anxiety, which can wreak havoc on your health.
- Go to bed 15 minutes earlier. Sleep is one of the most important contributors to a healthy body. Most people stay up too late, and spend nighttime hours staring at screens. Sleep is good for your immune system, mood, and memory. It can also help keep extra weight off.
- Pray. Regular prayer builds resilience to stress, helps resist temptation, and improves overall physical and emotional health. Isn't it great that Jesus is always willing to be with us?

You rock!
See you Sunday!
