Moving forward, letting the past go

Hey friend,

I've been stuck in my head lately about reworking old music because I thought it would be easier to get on the road touring with.

It turns out, it's not.

It's not that I feel like the old music doesn't represent me anymore, it's just that none of it was ever meant to have lyrics or be played live in anything other than a DJ setting.

So trying to make it that has not just been difficult but unrewarding.

The music will always change through time with any artist, and I'm not abandoning the old music.

The answer is to let it be what it is. It's a product of its time. It's who I was at that moment.

I don't know how or if I will work them into sets in the future or if only the new music coming out in the future of megabyteGhost will be performed live, since it's more in-line with what I want to do live.

The idea hit me that I haven't made a physical release. Maybe I could put together a compilation of my favorites from that era of megabyteGhost, the instrumental era, and release that as a physical CD.

Maybe even vinyl?

Would either of those things interest you (CD and/or vinyl compilation of previously released music)? If so, hit reply and let me know.

P.S. Just a heads up but Friday is Bandcamp Friday which means Bandcamp waives their fees for the day. There is still a payment processing fee I think, but otherwise more of the money goes directly to the artists. It's an important day of the month (when they happen; not every month) for us artists who sell there.
