Falling in love on the beach (song story)

Dec 22, 2023 9:55 pm

Hey friend,

I want to tell you the story behind a couple tracks featured on my label compilation We Are Approaching Utopia In 2024.

Specifically, tracks 14 and 16, sunrise and walk, respectively. Both from my music project Prefecture.Audio.

They're in reverse order here, and they're later in the album they are originally from, Prefecture.Audio I: Beach.

The whole album is the story of going to a late night beach party and falling in love.

Videos and images don't do justice to what our imagination can conjure up, so think about these plot points while you're listening to the tracks. What would you do in the situation?

In track 16, walk, our protagonist and their love interest have stepped away from the party to take a walk.

The protagonist starts to fall in love now, and even zones out a bit while imagining their first kiss together.

Which leads into the next track on the original album, first kiss anxiety.

Track 14 of We Are Approaching Utopia In 2024, sunrise, takes place a little later in Beach.

At this point, the party is breaking up. The protagonist fears they'll never see the love interest again.

Afterall, they've never met before this party yet lived in the same area their whole lives.

Why not just ask for their number? It's just not that easy. What if they say no? What if they don't want to see you again?

The anxiety and fear culminate in relief when the love interest asks the protagonist for a ride home.

More time to muster up the courage to get their number.

Anyway.

Maybe some day I'll get around to writing a full short story around this album.

P.S. On January 1st, 2024, the price of We Are Approaching Utopia In 2024 will increase to $15 and stay that way for the rest of the year.

On December 31, 2024, it comes down forever and will no longer be available for purchase.

Don't sleep on this.

Grab it right now at only $10: https://ko-fi.com/s/6ba3f09b3a

If you already bought it, thank you so much!

Please forward this to someone you know that would like it.

P.P.S. If you produce music too, you'll be interested to know I'm adding some samples, loops, and track stems to the compilation.

It'll be worth far more than the $15, and at 26 tracks (16 released, 10 unreleased) I think it's worth more than the $10 right now.
