It's another Monday, which means it's time for me to check in and see how you're doing.

Yes, I actually expect - and sometimes get - responses. It usually has nothing to do with photography, it's just an opportunity to check in with someone who will listen and provide an ear. If you'd like advice or a tool to get through something, I'm willing to find those for you.

But why I really wanted to touch base this week... was to remind you that it's ok to have one of those days!

Storytime...

I photographed an engagement session this weekend.

When I left the house, I was NOT feeling it...ever had one of those moments? In the spirit of Milli Vanilli, I'll blame it on the rain, but it was just one of those days.

On the way there, I pumped some music (ignore the Pitbull coming from the speakers, but thank God & Jimmy Buffett) and tried to find some energy. I got to the location a few minutes early and started setting up the cameras and lights.

When the couple approached, everything changed. As I started snapping the shutter of my camera, my mood snapped almost as quickly. I ended up having a blast, but more importantly - so did the client AND we got some GORGEOUS images out of it.

The moral of the story:

When you're having one of those days, sometimes you just have to start...a "fake it til you make it" approach. I'm sure glad I did - this turned into one of my favorite engagement sessions ever! (Shameless plug: if you or someone you know needs engagement photos, let's chat!)
