Hello ,
Tech Tuesday... (but not what you're thinking)
I've had some really good conversations with many of you over the past month and I'll continue to jump on a call whenever possible. One of the common things that keeps popping up in conversation is social media and marketing.
Some of you are making great strides with regards to online presence and some are still trying to figure it out.
I get it, some of you don't really care about social media, but I guarantee that the majority of your customers do, so it you may not want to ignore it. It might also help to know that the majority of our 239k followers on Facebook are men between the ages of 45-60. I'm guessing that probably sounds a lot like most of your customers.
Here's a few Tips that might help you:
- Consistency Make a post every day on Facebook, IG, TikTok, etc. illustrating something new and cool about you, your business and or offerings. For instance: A trail or an event you wheeled/attended over the weekend, a cool rig that you've got in the shop, a funny reel about "Tech Jimmy" and his favorite shop tool, etc.
- Keep it short, keep it fun, keep it RAW... but the key thing to do is ENGAGE. Ask a questions, post up a Poll, ask customers what they think about XXXXX? What's your favorite tire size and why? What's on your bucket list of trails? Engagement is everything in the world of social media. Do a weekly walkthrough and talk about what you're working on. (See Mount Zion Offroad for an example). Mike does a great job of this.
- RESPOND Your social stats and following will increase if you interact and respond to comments and messages. Search Facebook or the forums for your shop name and see if things pop up. There are multiple opportunities out there to interact with your customers.
- CAPCUT - This App is available for your device and your computer (click here to learn more), and I highly recommend installing it AND paying for the Pro version. It will allow you to grab a couple short video clips and turn them into super-catchy reels and posts in just minutes. Cool content gets shared, and then people find out about you and your shop. It's been extremely helpful for us here and you can see some examples on our Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok pages.
- NEED HELP? Email me and schedule some time. I may be able to offer some insight and quick tips to help you up your social marketing game. Plus it's always good to chat and learn more about your business.
