Good News: God is CRAZY.
It turns out, God is crazy.
Now, you may think that sounds sacrilegious, but I’m convinced that God doesn’t mind…it’s all part of God being crazy.
Whether you’re a fan of God or not, most of us have some picture that we’ve been given of a strict old man in the sky. Long beard. Weathered eyes. A scowl on his face because he knows what you did…
But it turns out that the truth about God is much different than what we might have been told...

You can have too many friends.
Well, as it turns out, you can have too many friends.
Have you ever heard of Dunbar’s Number? “Dunbar’s number is the number of meaningful and stable relationships you can have at any one time. That includes extended family as well as friends. In fact, people who come from large extended families have fewer friends because they give priority to family members. The number 150 is an average, but there’s a lot of variation. The range of variation is somewhere between 100 and 250.” (Read more here.)
Here’s a fun exercise: find out how many contact you have in your phone. If you have an iPhone, open the Phone or Contacts app and scroll all the way to the bottom to get the answer. Currently, I have 1799 contacts in my phone. How many “friends” do you have on facebook? How many people do you follow on Instagram? How many connections do you have on your other social media platforms? I’m guessing, like me, you are well beyond 150.
So, what is our responsibility when it comes to building and maintaining healthy friendships? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Reply to this email and let me know!

Ted Lasso & Leadership
If you haven’t watched Ted Lasso yet…WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? You can get a free trial of AppleTV+ and even if you pay the $5/mo, it is totally worth it, just for this one show! Ted Lasso is the best show on tv in the last decade.
And while I spent most of season 2 wondering if I would rather be Ted or Roy, Coach Lasso undoubtedly has a deep, deep well of leadership wisdom that we should all drink from.
On this Founder’s Journal podcast, they talk about 4 Leadership Lessons from Ted Lasso. It’s only 15 minutes long, and definitely worth a listen, even if you haven’t seen the show yet.
Any other diehard Ted Lasso fans out there?? Let me know!
(Founder’s Journal is hosted by the founder of Morning Brew. If you’re not a Morning Brew subscriber, I highly recommend it. It’s a daily news update, delivered straight to your inbox. It is very well done! Click here to sign up.)
