BEST gear from NAB

I just went live breaking down some gear that I think is going to matter a LOT going into 2026 👀
This isn’t just hype — it’s stuff that could actually change how people build their setups moving forward.

If you don’t have time, here’s the quick recap 👇
🔌 Viltrox PL → L Mount Adapter
This is a big one.
PL lenses have always been more locked into high-end cinema setups — fully manual, expensive, and not the most flexible for everyday shooters.
If Viltrox really nails a PL to L adapter, it opens the door for:
- using true cinema glass on smaller L-Mount bodies
- more affordable access to PL lenses
- mixing cinema and hybrid workflows way easier
Just to be clear:
👉 this isn’t about autofocus
PL glass is fully manual — but that’s also part of what gives it that cinema look and feel.
🎬 Kinefinity Vista
Kinefinity has always been on the edge of the conversation… but the Vista feels like it could push things further.
It’s another sign that we’re getting more serious cinema options outside the usual brands, and that’s only a good thing.
More competition = better cameras for everyone.
🧁 Autofocus Pancake Lenses
This is one of the more underrated trends right now.
Small, lightweight autofocus pancake lenses are starting to show up — and they make a huge difference.
Because at the end of the day:
- smaller setups = easier to carry
- easier to carry = you actually shoot more
And that’s what matters.
🔥 L-Mount in General
Everything kind of points back to this.
More lenses
More third-party support
More flexibility between brands
It really feels like L-Mount is slowly becoming:
👉 the system that gives you the most freedom long-term
