Say goodbye to your Zoom 🔴

Hey, ,
If you have been connecting with anybody since 2020, you might be saying to yourself — hmm… tell me more Matt.
Wix Live is an online video streaming platform made for hosting meetings and webinars. It's similar to Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
Why does it matter that Wix Live exists when you have at least 3 solid options?
Because, Wix Live is free for all Wix users. Yep, free!
I'll dive into that just what Wix Live can do for you, in a bit. But first…

Welcome to the online video streaming party Wix Live! 🎉
Wix Live can be used to host your meetings with clients, your business team, wedding party, or even your family & friends—especially if you've got that kind of homegrown website. You're also able to use Wix Live for setting up online events, such as: webinars, keynote addresses, product demos, virtual conferences, career fairs, college fairs, and the like.
Interested in learning more? Let's dive in…
How do you set up Wix Live video for virtual events?
- Visit one of the supporting apps, such as Wix Events.
- Create a new event and enter the important details.
- Then, choose "Wix Live" as your Video Conferencing platform (currently Wix integrates with only two options: Wix Live and Zoom).
- Select between the two types of Wix Live video streams: "Webinar" where you speak to an audience, or "Meeting" where everyone can speak to each other.
- Save & publish that event. You're ready!
What are some of my favorite ideas to use Wix Live for?
- Online virtual events for app-averse individuals: If your attendees are most likely not experienced users of video streaming apps, Wix Live is an excellent option as it does not require an app download!
- Team meetings: If you've got a team (25 or less), this is a great option. You can set up a call, invite everyone, share screens, live chat, and more!
- Private group events: Set up calls with a completely branded experience for your members and chat with your most loyal fans—there's no need to send them to a 3rd party website just to sign up.
- Paid events - Wix Live is incredibly secure for your company, as it generates a unique link per participant that cannot be shared. No random Zoomers welcome.
- Professional webinars: with an impressive landing page for audiences to register, Wix Live outperforms every option with a spectacular webinar sign-up page that's always on brand. Plus, when you do go live, your preferred background, colors, and font make for a unique experience for all.
Who is the Wix Live video streaming platform for?
Wix website owners who have upgraded to a Premium Plan have Wix Live already included in their service plans. If that's you, it means you could start cutting a third party provider like Zoom and save on the monthly or annual fees. Doesn't that feel nice?!
Now, will we all start leaving Zoom behind? That's pretty unlikely. Wix Live is not yet supported in all apps, such as Wix Bookings. Plus, Wix supports and works hard to collaborate and help benefit their users (you & me) and 3rd party partners like Zoom. So, with Wix Live, we now have more ways to stay productive and communicate efficiently with our teams and audiences—at no extra cost.
A couple notes to consider before starting to use Wix Live:
- For attendees looking to join from their Apple iPhone, Wix Live currently only works on the default Safari browser. Though, Safari is the most popular mobile browser choice for any mobile user.
- There's currently a head count of 25 people for meetings and 250 people for events, webinars, conferences, etc. So, if you need more, you're currently better off going with the alternative options like Zoom.
