Hey, ,

13 months ago, I took a different approach to planning my daily life.

I chose to start journaling using The Bullet Journal Method.

The creator behind it, Ryder Carrol, once said:

The Bullet Journal method is a mindfulness practice that's disguised as a productivity system. It helps you organize what you're doing. More importantly, it helps you clarify why you're doing what you're doing.

As I wrap 2023 and embark on what's next for me, I am aiming with intention again.

I hope the same for you.

To support you in creating a positive outlook and a strategy toward being your best self, I wanted to share with you an article from Ryder that takes a different approach to the all-to-common "new year's resolutions".

It helps to break down the concepts of planning and goal setting, so that you can learn how they can guide your actions and transform your journey in the new year.

๐Ÿ“ Plans vs Goals vs Resolutions vs Intentions

The article explores the differences between resolutions, intentions, plans, and goals, which are often used interchangeably but serve distinct purposes.

  • Resolutions are commitments to outcomes, but they often lack clear goals and plans.
  • Goals define specific outcomes and provide a sense of purpose, while plans outline the process to achieve those goals.
  • Intentions, on the other hand, are commitments to a present action and focus on being rather than arriving.

The article suggests combining all these concepts into intentional projects that leverage the strengths of intentions, goals, and plans while avoiding their individual weaknesses.

Read the article and share your thoughts with someone close to you.

I'm also happy to hear what it sparked for you. Tap reply and chat with me.

Enjoy,

Matt
