Whenever someone asks for my thoughts or a website redesign, I like to start by getting to know them better.

I ask them to take a step back and reflect on their "why."

Here are the three main questions I always ask:

1. What is the purpose of your business? Think beyond your website here.
2. What aspects of your offerings could be improved? This might come from your client/customer feedback or your own observations.
3. How does your website help you and your audience. Imagine your ideal website is live: Describe how it supports you and your business. Share what your audiences experience is like.

Notice how these questions aren't about design or features? That's intentional.

Your website should be a tool that serves your broader business goals, not just a digital presence.

Take some time to think about your answers. Writing them down can provide valuable clarity.
