What's new in the Wix Editor

Wix’s latest version of the Editor is designed for people who want an easier and more intuitive way to build websites. The new design presets make it fast, while also giving you advanced capabilities like never before!

Here are some main takeaways of the new editor.

Semantic sections

This is by far the biggest change of them all. You can now effectively organize your content by dividing it into meaningful sections, or customizable blocks. Get started by adding a blank section and customize it to fit your needs. Or, use a pre-designed section and apply your look & feel, voice & tone with a few clicks.

The use of sections for web development is a great way to make the site building process more accessible on first-time users. There's no need to worry about line breaks or spacing. Simply click an icon and choose from one of prebuilt themes that match what you're looking at in your browser window!

Easier navigation

With the click of one button, you can change your layout to how it fits best on mobile or desktop. You'll be able to move sections around and make sure everything looks good with just about any screen size in mind!

Quick Edit tool for easy updates

With the new Quick Edit tool, you can change elements on your page without touching any of them! This is perfect for you if you are nervous about making changes and risking ruining your design.

Zoom out mode

The new layout navigation and zoom out mode automatically gives you a better overall vision of your site as it evolves. Easily rearrange your sections or add new ones with a single click.

Design presets

With the new Wix editor, you can effortlessly change the look and feel of your site with customizable design kits that are curated by Wix experts.

Switch layout

The switch layout feature provides an easy way to add new content and update your site within seconds. It allows you to optimize your website page's content for the best user experience, by suggesting alternative layouts that will create an improved layout in terms of aesthetics and ease-of-use.

Here are some common questions about the new enhanced Wix editor.

When will this new version be live? Will this apply to existing websites or only new ones?

Currently, all new users are getting access to this new version of the Editor. If you already have a Wix site, Wix is in the final stages of rolling out this version, so if your site hasn’t been updated yet—don’t worry it will be soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to try out the new version, you can create a new site using one of the Wix templates. 

Will this be available in all languages?

Yes, as part of the rollout process, this new version will eventually be available in all languages Wix supports.

How will this affect my live site?

The update will happen automatically, and it will happen behind the scenes, so your visitors will not notice any change on your live site.
