Peaks and Valleys

Dear Family,

Life has a way of giving us peaks and valleys—those moments when everything clicks, followed by stretches where nothing seems to work out.

Peaks bring to mind the movie Limitless, where Bradley Cooper’s character takes a pill that makes him unstoppable—constantly at his best, tackling every challenge with ease. Imagine that: always in “peak mode.” It’s an alluring idea, but real life is more nuanced, and there’s no magic pill for lasting success.

Peaks are great, but it’s in the valleys where we do some of our most important work.

Valleys build resilience, push us to dig deeper, and remind us to realign with our goals. They make us pause, rethink our approach, and ultimately prepare us for the next climb. It’s often in those low moments that we pick up the tools and insights we’ll need for what’s next.

Normalizing excellence requires embracing both the highs and the lows.

The peaks give us momentum and drive, while the valleys provide the wisdom and grit to keep going. Wherever you are right now—whether you’re riding high or working through a challenge—trust that every part of the journey has purpose.

The road may not be easy, but it’s worth every step.

From LUX, With Love

Matt
