Strong Enough To Keep Up

Dear Family,
I came across the following Business Insider video on YouTube titled “Life Lessons From Senior Athletes Who Started Competing Late in Life.”
It’s about fifteen minutes long, but it’s well worth a watch, as it features men and women in their 70s, 80s, and even 90s learning to swim, powerlift, and run track. Some started after hip replacements. Others after decades away from sports.
I don’t know about you, but it feels like people are becoming more aware of the importance of taking care of their bodies, not to look good on Instagram, but to feel alive as they get older.
One of the athletes said, “Exercise is the most powerful drug for longevity.”
Now that Christian and I are getting older, we try to prioritize getting our 10,000 steps a day and going to the gym two to three times a week. It’s not always easy with a newborn, but I’ve found ways to make it work. That’s why, in some of my content, you’ll see me walking and talking.
I want to make sure that as she gets older, we’re able to keep up.
The video above is a good reminded that longevity isn’t guaranteed, it’s earned.
Through the choices we make, the habits we build, and the consistency we keep when life gets busy. Whether it’s our health, our relationships, or our finances, the goal is simple:
Stay strong enough to keep up with the people and the life that matter most.
