Release Day Shenanigans!

Jun 04, 2021 8:16 am

Hello hello! You are receiving this email because you signed up for my newsletter. Thank you! I bet if you were in a scary movie you'd be one of the smart people who ran out the front door instead of up the stairs.

I can't believe it's already June, but here we are! And Time of My Life is live across the interwebs!

Today is the worst day of Jane Stewart’s life. And she’s reliving it over and over (and over and over) again.

She’s late to the same make-or-break meeting.

She’s fired from the same soul-crushing job.

And—the cherry on top—she’s dumped by the same lying, selfish dirtbag.

But no matter how many times she relives the same disasters and no matter what she tries to change them, it all ends in the same abysmal mess. Because, apparently, being stuck in a time loop on the worst day of her life hasn’t cured her crippling social anxiety. Go figure.

The one bright spot? Her long-time crush wants to be more than friends . . . if only she can get them past their first date. And so her happily ever is doomed before it can even begin unless she can find a way to save her job, her heart, and, oh yeah, the space-time continuum.

In other bookish news, the second book in this series (which may also be the last unless I get another time-related idea :D) is already up for preorder! It's not releasing until October, so we've got a little time here. I don't have a blurb yet because I'm still in the roughest of rough draft stages, but the basic premise is a woman who inherits a house, initially thinks it's haunted, but it turns out her "ghost" is a man who lived on the property a few years ago.

Basically, it's Just Like Heaven meets The Lake House--we'll see how this shakes out and I will keep you all updated! <3

We are (clearly) keeping with the 80s music theme though.

Capping this message off with a couple of releases from my friends and author colleagues that I think you will enjoy :)

I'm sure I've told you all how much I love Diely Pichardo-Johansson (she is a doctor and she helped me with Brent's medical condition in Imperfect Strangers!)

She writes wonderful romance novels and she recently released a self-help book called Bouncing Back: A How-To Manual for Joy with Minimal Energy Expenditure--and it's SO GOOD!

I don't know about you, but I am constantly working to improve myself and trying to become more resilient to change and things that I have no control over (I mean, the last year has definitely shown me how people--and I--react to chaos and uncertainty).

This book is a great handbook for tips and tricks on handling all those things life throws at us. None of us get through it unscratched, but we can definitely provide our own salves and bandages :)

AND if you are a writer or author (quick tip here) I highly recommend reading self-help books for ideas on character arcs and flaws--seriously books like this are wonderful for generating ideas for character flaws and trauma and how to move someone from resistance to resilience--but I digress.

Here is Diely's book and the link--it is 99 pennies for a limited time but I have no idea how long this deal will last so get it while you can!

I know a lot of you also read and love Susannah Nix's books--and I do too! She's freaking amaaaazing and this series is all things wonderful and geeky and STEM related. If you haven't seen it yet, the last book in her Chemistry Lesson's series is now available everywhere! This is a small town romance with baby goat hijinks and romantic cheese tasting. What else could you possibly want from a book!?
