Into Summer

Hey awesome,

I hope your June is off to a smooth start. I'm not entirely sure how time works these days, because somehow we're approaching the middle of the year. How?

I'm not entirely complaining, given June has some of my favorite things - beautiful weather, fresh strawberries, my birthday, Liberty Con, deadlines...

Ok, deadlines aren't one of my favorite things, but they do get my productivity going, so that's a win. Especially given I have two short stories, a novella, and a novel to get done over these next few weeks...

Also in the next few weeks: Liberty Con (in Chattanooga, TN June 17-19)! One of my favorite conventions, full of so many of my favorite people, and it will be our first in-person LC in a few years. I love it so much I jumped at the chance to be part of this fantabulousness:

This anthology is in honor of Liberty Con, and even more excitingly, proceeds go to the Baen Books Timothy Bolego Memorial Scholarship administered by the Tennessee Valley Interstellar Workshop. Getting to write a story for an awesome cause and get to be in an anthology alongside current legends of the field? This was a highlight of my year, and I can't wait to read the rest of the stories.

Talk about looking forward to June! I know we're releasing it at LibertyCon, and I'll be sure to update you with the details when I have them.

Other breaking details: Hit World: The Valkyries Initiative will be out in the world Friday, September 16! This anthology will kick off the Hit World: Valkyries storyline, and includes 15 tales introducing the women who may be tapped as the first of the Valkyries.

You can learn more about the contributing authors as interviews are released on the CKP YouTube page (for those authors who did videos) and on my blog (for those who chose written interviews). The newest video is out this week, featuring the amazing Mary McKenna. She has the honor (I'm sure that's the word!) of being the writer in the anthology who's known me the longest - we've been writing together since we were teenagers.

Crazy that that's a span of time I can measure in...decades now.
