getting it togetherđź“’

Hey awesome,

We're a few weeks out from DragonCon, so I'm trying to focus on getting things done, but all I want to do is start packing and then go hang out with tens of thousands of fellow nerds. Fortunately/unfortunately, deadlines await, and so I am mostly keeping it together.

How are you doing in the depths of summer? Will I get to see you at DragonCon? I'll put my schedule up over on the blog in the next week or so, juuuust in case there's a chance to meet up.

Between now and DragonCon, my goal is to finish the three short stories I have due this year. Each is a different flavor, which should keep my brain hopping in the right direction - horror, 4HU, and space opera. What odds do you give me?

While I make progress against these deadlines, release dates for other projects are approaching! Remember this beauty?

Beyond Enemies is officially available for pre-order. You can follow that link, or go anywhere books are sold to queue it up for delivery to you on its release date, February 6, 2024! It's also available for pre-order at Target, and I'm not going to lie, that cracks me up. I love it so much.

If you're wanting to continue the pre-order party, The Spider will be out March 15, 2024, and is also available if you want it ordered and ready for you on its release day!

Because I'm making progress and not (fingers crossed) too behind on anything, I had a chance to spend an entire reading, and I devoured this:

Ebony Gate, by Julia Vee and Ken Bebelle, is the first in a new epic series, and whewwwww I recommend it. I loved Emiko, and her world, and the cast of characters assembled around her. Strongly recommend if you like a bit of urban/high fantasy, action, and fascinating worldbuilding with some mystery build up.

If you want to add some excellent free reads to your TBR, I got you:

What are you reading that should go on my TBR list? I have a plane ride and some hopefully quiet evenings coming up, and you know, that TBR list is never long enough...

Til next time,

Marisa
