Ma Petite Planète - The final sprint, Second hidden challenge and a video from SEA Plastics!
Mar 30, 2022 8:31 am
Hello there !
It's already been almost two weeks since the Ma Petite Planète adventure started 🎉 The final sprint has now begun to validate as many challenges as possible! 🌱🌍
We wanted to CONGRATULATE you because we're breaking records with over 264,452 challenges completed! We are close to 30,000 participants and we are not far from the ultimate goal of 300,000 challenges completed, so we are counting on you to make the counter explode all together 💪
We advise you to share this general counter with your students to show them the strength of the collective. Don't hesitate to remind them that more than 1,500 classes are participating not only in France but also internationally (from more than 60 countries 🌎)
Below, you will find some information, including: the revelation of the second long-awaited hidden challenge, the ranking, the MPP participation diplomas, a short video of our godmothers, etc.
Revelation of the second hidden Challenge
The second hidden challenge is different depending on the level!
- Hidden Challenge 2 Primary School: A plain baguette, please!
For this challenge, the pupils have to go to the bakery and ask for bread (or other) without packaging.
Using less packaging reduces the amount of waste! One more step for the preservation of our beautiful Planet 🥖
- Hidden Challenge 2 Secondary: Ecology Quiz
Let's go with Question for a Champion!
This challenge consists in doing this little quiz on ecology to learn a lot of new things or to see that you are already a professional 😋 Understanding is already starting to act and moreover it will allow the students to have concrete (or paper, it's greener) arguments for the defence of the planet!
You can find the quiz just here :
The general ranking
From the first tab of the Google Sheet you received, you can find the link to the general ranking which includes the scores:
👉 By Class
👉 By School
👉 By Level
👉 By Team of Teachers
We know that you may have encountered difficulties in accessing the ranking and the MPP team is working hard to improve the accessibility of the ranking.
However, due to a very high number of participants (which we are very happy about!), we decided to update the general ranking only once a day so that it is accessible to as many people as possible at any time. It is therefore updated every evening, so don't panic if the points entered do not appear immediately on the ranking 😉
To find your class/school, go to the tab that interests you. Press the "CTRL" key on your keyboard, followed by the "F" key, at the top right of your screen, a small window will open: type in the name of your class, your school or your town to find you!
Here is also a small overview of the first 10 classes (it's tight, everything can still change!) 🎉
Pilot Group : app update needed
For teachers who play on the Ma Petite Planète platform (available to all from November 2022 onwards, FYI), a new update of the application is necessary in order to be able to take advantage of the optimised version of the platform. Our tech team is working to fix the bugs and this update is highly recommended to have the latest version of the app.
You can also use the online version on your computer, which does not require an update.
Upcoming diplomas (👉 on Slack)
We are going to provide you with certificates of participation in the Ma Petite Planète challenge to be given to the pupils. You can find them on Slack in the #nosannonces channel in two versions (with or without the apparent ranking). We advise you to offer these diplomas to symbolically reward your pupils for their participation.
As a reminder, prizes will be offered to the first three classes of each level. We have also put a document on Slack at your disposal to give you ideas of prizes to offer to your pupils if you wish 😉
Short video of our godmothers preparing their departure (in French)
As a reminder, Clara, Laurine, Alice and Anne-Laure are our godmothers for this spring 2022 school edition! They are part of SEA Plastics, a student association fighting against plastic pollution. They are sailing for 4 months. This expedition will allow them to acquire samples of micro-plastics that will be provided to researchers in France and Switzerland. SEA Plastics is committed to contributing to scientific research while at the same time raising public awareness in each port about the reduction of plastic pollution. o follow their adventure on a daily basis you can follow them on instagram @seaplastics or on their logbook.
Our sponsors have made a short video for the students, in which they show the boat they will be living on for the next few months. You can find the video right here:
That's it, we've covered the main news of the week, a BIG THANK YOU to you for launching the game in your class(es)! We hope your students enjoy the game and that you have a great time together in this great adventure 😃
Please, don't forget to transfer this e-mail to your colleagues in the game ! 😉
We wish you a wonderful end of edition!
A green kiss 💚
