Dear Mama and Papa Bear families,
Happy holidays to you and your loved ones! We hope this season has blessed you all with a beautiful Christmas filled with much needed fun and down time with your families and friends, and may the rest of your holiday be permeated with connection and restfulness as we enter the new year.
We have a few resources to share with you to support you in navigating doctor visits and autonomy, conversations surrounding a diagnosis of a loved one, as well as a directory to view school library books found within your own districts in Canada.

Do you Know What you are Signing When Providing Your Signature at Your Doctor's Office?
We would like to bring to your attention something to be aware of the next time you visit your doctor's office. Have you ever been asked to sign an electronic consent form? Do you really know what you are consenting to when they ask for your signature as a “standard practice” in their office?
It has been revealed that part of what you are consenting to could very well be for the doctor to give you vaccinations, among other things. And we want to encourage you to request what you are being asked to consent to be printed out for you to read it through, because you have the authority to do this.
The power of saying no is empowering, not only when taking control of your health, but in your personal life as well. When using services which are paid for through your tax dollars, you as a citizen have every right to say no to anything you may not feel comfortable with, and this includes medical services.
Watch the short video below which talks in more detail about the power of saying no

Navigating Conversations Around Illness With Children
With the alarming rise in cancer rates, we wanted to share this important resource, released by Mesothelioma Hope, with our Mama Bears families to use when trying to navigate the unimaginably difficult conversations with children around a diagnosis of a loved one, for anyone who finds themselves in this circumstance or knows a family who is unfortunately dealing with this.

Know Which Books Your Child Has Access to at School
Do you have a grandchild, niece or nephew in the school system? Are their parents aware of the content in the school libraries that the children have access to? Below is an excellent video that clearly demonstrates that children are disturbingly exposed to pornographic books at school. If your child attends school in Canada, please visit our schooling page below to access “SOGI123”, and find out which books are in which specific schools 👇
