Hey guys - my very first newsletter
Oct 13, 2024 6:44 pm
Hello to my 32 subscribers!
Well, the day has come, and today, Saturday, Oct 13, at 8 PM, I'm writing my first piece newsletter. I want to thank you for first taking the time to subscribe and read this content.
I don't have a clear idea of what I'd like to tackle each week (I guess that will become a weekly update). Of course, it will be mainly AI, business, and SaaS-oriented, as this is my journey.
For those who don't know me well, I have been in IT all my career and have worked in the same market/industry for the last 15 years. I started as a contractor and grew gradually in the same company where I worked for the previous ten years. But since the last two years, I have felt I'm missing something, so starting my journey has been my goal. After breaking my spine four months ago and being in recovery for two months, I took the opportunity to start my company, and I have been grinding ever since. I've worked with AI for over two years and have built a couple of SaaS while discovering and practicing with Make/N8N (more on that in the next update)

This week, I have been working on the following;
- I released to production 2 APIs for the community. Those were already ready, but I had to make some adjustments. One of them now has over 100 active users as we speak, which is a big achievement!
- The start of the newsletter - Besides automation, I enjoy (a bit much) domain name auctions (people that don't renew their domain name on time - this is how a couple of months ago I snatched joinmyjourney.com for $$$)
- I have attended some YouTube classes, especially around scripting. I believe the scripting will make a difference in the upcoming videos
- I had 2 interesting, promising calls (1x Retainer client | 1x Potential partner with a freelancer)
- I have worked on a new API (sneak peek), which should drop soon

Make.com small bites;
My idea for the newsletter is to provide valuable information; I'd like to give some tips in small bites format.
Today's concept is: How do you ingest documents to ChatGPT via Make for an Assistant? (this required more thinking than we thought and needed a dedicated API call)
This portion of the scenario is responsible for it.
- We download the PDF/Document we want to ingest via the HTTP module
- We then use the Upload file module with chatGPT
- We then make an API call to the vector database of GPT
- We then allow the assistant to use the file search option
Steps 3 and 4 are the most important.

I mentioned briefly n8n - I'm currently migrating to n8n internally speaking; one of the reasons is the multiple triggers supported in n8n, which is insane. If you want to follow along, I released a video a couple of days ago on how to get started having your instance of n8n under 20min
🎥 Coolify & n8n made it easy!

Enough talking; in the first email, I promise to show a picture of the new Puppy and meet "Brevka." She's been living in our home for a month now :)

If you read all the way to the end, thank you! I'd be grateful for any feedback. I'm also using the newsletter as journalism, helping me realize the achievements made throughout the week, as I often feel I'm not progressing in my business goals.
If you feel this content might interest any of your friend or network, do not hesitate to share with them the link. https://joinmyjourney.com

Happy making all!
