The Malaysian Association for Cancer Research (https://macr-cancer.org) will be organising two one-day post-conference symposiums in conjunction with the International Conference on Drug Discovery and Translational Medicine 2023 (ICDDTM’23):
Behavioural Neuroscience: A Practical Approach to the Study of Psychoactive Drugs

Gel-Based Proteomics and Biochemical Pathway Mapping via Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA)

- Venue: Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The main conference is scheduled for 5th and 6th December 2023, at the Unicorn Hotel, Seri Kembangan, Selangor. With the theme “Scientific Discoveries: Impacting Healthcare and Driving Economic Growth”, the conference is geared to explore the symbiotic relationship between scientific innovations and economic development.
The first post-conference symposium will cover essential methods in behavioural neuroscience, from isolating plant-derived psychoactive substances to administering them in animal studies, such as those investigating addiction, cognition, or the blood-brain barrier. Through informative talks, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, this symposium will empower participants to learn and relearn various behavioural paradigms.
The second post-conference symposium aims to equip participants with the skills to analyse differential protein expression through 2-DE and perform biochemical pathway mapping in the Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) software. This symposium will include talks, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions. Participants will receive trial IPA licenses valid for two weeks, generously provided by Qiagen. The software is popularly used to elucidate the mechanisms of action of active compounds, identify disease biomarkers, and render protein data into biologically meaningful pathways.
