Lionsgate Teams Up with Runway for AI-Powered Filmmaking
Lionsgate, the studio behind blockbusters like John Wick and The Hunger Games, is taking a bold step into the world of AI. They've partnered with Runway, a cutting-edge AI video generation company, to develop a custom AI model. This digital assistant will be trained on Lionsgate's film catalog to generate cinematic video, which filmmakers at Lionsgate can then refine using Runway's suite of tools. The goal? Streamlining both pre- and post-production processes.
Why it matters: This collaboration marks one of the first major AI partnerships in Hollywood. Its success will influence how the film industry integrates AI into creative workflows. We might be witnessing the beginning of a new era in filmmaking - one where AI plays a supporting role in bringing stories to life.
