Welcome back to 3D News, the newsletter for digital artists. Every week, I handpick the best links to ensure you stay ahead in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Artist vs Service Provider

One of the issues tormenting Digital Artists is trying to balance between being an artist vs being a service provider of something people will pay for. Regarding the coming wave of AI Deepmind Founder, Mustafa Suleyman, states.

"Once an innovation delivers a competitive advantage like this, everyone must either adopt it, leapfrog it, switch focus, or lose market share and eventually go bust”

To earn a living you need to provide a service of value. So, it’s not a question of how we can keep doing the same job, the days of photorealism being the unique selling point are fading. So the question is how can the future digital artist offer something more useful and valuable than they currently offer to the people they serve?

This is what we will explore in next week's video and below is a sneak peak of what we will be creating.

Meshy-2.5 Launches AI Texture Editing Offering More Control for AI 3D Modelling

AI 3D modeling continues to improve with Meshy 2.5 introducing the ability to refine textures on AI-generated 3D models using brushstrokes and text prompts.

Why it matters: Like most of AI in the creative field, AI tools lacked control over the final result. This is where Meshy’s AI Texture Editing is excelling compared to other AI 3d modeling tools. This feature is currently only available for Pro members.
