Update on B’s court case

Thank you for praying for B. Unfortunately, the abuser did not show up in court last Friday. It seems the prison management took a bribe and gave the prisoner and witnesses different dates in an attempt to dismiss the case. But, thankfully, Doreen has a friend from the Office of the Public Prosecutor’s who revisited the file and confirmed he is still in prison. A new court date is set for Sept 8th. This is a setback, but not one beyond the control of a sovereign God.
As an encouragement and reminder of God’s perfect timing, here is an update about a case from a few months ago…
From Doreen—
”We won our case in court yesterday. The man was sentenced to 15 years.”
Here is the story—
Over 2 years ago, V was rescued by Lupins from sexual abuse. The abuser was her father. Her father was remanded last year around March, and had been continuously influencing the judges with his money. But, God’s timing is best. When he finally arrived in court, the judge was a born-again Christian who wouldn’t accept a bribe. Justice was served!
Upon hearing the news, V began singing “God has been in her story” which is a Luganda song.
We bless the Lord!
Like V&B, many girls are dependent upon Lupins for justice, but it is costly. Without sufficient funding, Lupins must use lawyers with less experience. Unfortunately, this significantly reduces the chances of a successful outcome. It is imperative that the abusers are brought to task for their crimes. Not only will this protect the abused girls, it will deter future crimes.
Each case costs between $500 and $1000. If you would like to help offset these costs, we would greatly appreciate the assistance.
