This will be a busy year!
Feb 28, 2024 2:23 pm
Because I’m anticipating a jam-packed year at Lupins Africa, I wanted to change the format of these emails. Going forward, you can choose the happenings which most interest you. Within each newsletter, I will provide synopses of current happenings (or random musings). If it’s of interest to you, you can read the full post on our website, via the link. Each post will be brief (1-2 minute) reads.
Happenings & Musings
The Mug:
This past Christmas, your gifts provided each girl with a mug. But this wasn’t just any mug. This mug was the embodiment of a story being rewritten…
Visiting Lupins:
My husband, Michael, recently visited the girls at the Lupins safe home. The girls were both nervous and intrigued. You can read his thoughts about the experience here.
Additionally, you can watch a 30 second video showing the girls’ impressions of Michael— the first mzungu (white person) most of them had ever met.
Mini Updates:
- We have already rescued 9 girls in 2024!
- The property purchase is progressing-- the property title transfer process is going smoothly, both the border wall & the security guard room construction will begin in the next couple weeks. The goal is to move to the new property by summer. We still need $20,000 for the property purchase. I have applied for a grant which would cover this, if awarded. Please pray!
Coming soon…
- In the next few months, you will be able to donate stocks to Lupins!
- The local women’s microfinance group will begin soon. I will send an update in the spring.
Please reach out to me any time. I always love hearing from each of you.
In Christ,
Kristen
P.S. If you have not received your giving statement from Lupins, let me know and I’ll email it to you right away.
