I wanted to provide a few updates regarding our 2025 trip to Uganda:

First, here are the flights my husband & I have selected:

To Uganda: Emirates, leaving from Dulles, VA (IAD) on January 15 at 10:30am, arriving in Entebbe, Uganda (EBB) at 2:10pm on January 16

Back to US: Emirates, leaving EBB 4:10pm January 27, arrived back to IAD 8:10am January 28th

COSTS:

Flights: costs are currently around $1100, round trip.

Housing: $75/night for 1 person in a room; $100/night for 2 people in a room; breakfast included. Here are a couple photos of the housing:

Airport transportation: ~ $50/person, each way from/to Entebbe airport (per person rates will be lower if more people travel together).

Food: Estimate about $30/day for food

Information from previous email: I will plan a general itinerary (with plenty of time to visit the girls) and provide some excursion options. We will all attend a banquet to celebrate the official launch of Lupins Africa in Uganda (it is customary to do this on the 4 or 5 year anniversary of a nonprofit in Uganda). The date for this banquet will be Saturday, January 25th.

On January 17th & 18th (Friday & Saturday), there will be an annual Ultimate Frisbee tournament between churches in Uganda. The girls from Lupins love to watch (and some even play!). You can participate/watch (or not 😆), it will be completely up to you! But this event will provide a fun, and low stress, way to spend time with the girls.

Both Sundays we will attend church, Doreen’s brother is the pastor.
