I'm working on my dissertation under my supervisor, Dr. Lewis, to examine how acculturative stress and traditional female gender role beliefs may impact help-seeking attitudes and Latina women's psychological well-being. The dissertation has been approved by the Nova Southeastern University Committee for the Review of Human Subjects Research (IRB# 2022-78).
Currently, I am looking for participants to take the survey who are Latina women over the age of 18. The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete and it is anonymous. Comcast RISE stands for “Representation, Investment, Strength and Empowerment”, and brings together two of the company’s brands — Comcast Business and Effectv, both with expertise in the small business space — to help empower business owners with the tools, expertise and resources needed to navigate the economic effects of the pandemic. Recipients will receive help with their marketing, media campaigns and creation of 30-second commercials, as well as website and tech upgrades.
Comcast RISE is now accepting applications from small businesses owned by people of color.

Driving Small Business Forward Grant Program
Now accepting applications until June 17, 2022 at 6 p.m. ET.
Apply for a $25,000 grant for use toward the purchase of a commercial vehicle for your business. Eligible small businesses must be:Majority (51%+) owned and operated by Hispanic-identifying entrepreneur(s)Have 10 or less employeesHave less than $5M in annual gross revenueHave a demonstrated need for a commercial vehicle to run your businessFor full eligibility requirements, including restricted businesses, see the terms and conditions.
The Halstead Grant is an annual award for emerging silver jewelry artists. Applicants submit answers to 15 business questions in addition to their design portfolios. The experience is designed to help jewelry entrepreneurs create a strategy to kick-start their careers. The grand prize is a $7,500 cash grant plus other benefits. The deadline is August 1st each year.
