While the slap-heard-round-the-world consumed the media last week, let's not allow that to take away from some of the BIG Latino wins from the Oscars. Ariana DeBose made history as the first openly queer Latina to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for West Side Story.
Also, Disney's Encanto, the animated film based on Colombia’s culture won Best Animated Feature Film.
And let's not forget that a Mexicano, Eugenio Derbez was part of the cast of CODA which won the Academy Award for Best Feature Film.

UnderFUNDED Grant Application for Black Woman Founder
The Well Work is giving one deserving Black Woman Founder a $5,000 grant courtesy of our corporate partner, Adyen. Adyen is a global payments platform built to help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
This wonderful program will award 121 (ONE HUNDRED TWENTY ONE!) educational stipends to Latinas looking to get their real estate license. I can’t stress enough what a great opportunity this is for the financial empowerment of our mujeres.

The Halstead Grant is an annual award for emerging silver jewelry artists. Applicants submit answers to 15 business questions in addition to their design portfolios. The experience is designed to help jewelry entrepreneurs create a strategy to kick-start their careers. The grand prize is a $7,500 cash grant plus other benefits. The deadline is August 1st each year.
