How's your year going? With Tiger's Mouth coming out in 31 days(!), I've been deep in publicity work: podcast interviews, essay writing, social media, and more. Which is why you've probably been seeing a lot more of me online but hearing from me directly less. This ramp up to publication has been really exciting and special, and I'm thrilled to be able to finally share a tour schedule. But before I get into all that, let's talk books!
Each year, the publishing industry saves its biggest hits for September and October, and the consensus in the industry is that this year is ESPECIALLY noisy, with what feels like a legion of award-winning and bestselling fiction authors coming out with books this fall. As a bookseller, I usually de-prioritize reading the big-name authors because these books sell themselves, but since I have my own novel coming out on November 17, I've been a lot more plugged in. I figured you might like some honest takes on what I feel on this gigantic list is worth reading and what you should pass on. September's most talked-about releases are presented below in order of publication date. October releases will need to be a separate newsletter, if I ever get around to it.
