Hi everyone!
Let me introduce you to a design that is really special for me: the Frøya top!
Frøya is the design I was really dreaming of creating someday! I love the Victorian inspiration, the sleeves, and all the details… And mostly, this was my big challenge for this year, as it is my first adaptive pattern EVER. I really wanted to make my patterns more size inclusive, and for this fitted top, that meant offering more possibilities to this garment.
This pattern contains 2 versions (a “bloused” version and a waisted version), 10 sizes, and 4 chest circumference adjustments. Meaning that for every size, you get a lot of possibilities to create the perfect garment that really suits you.
This pattern is meant to be fitted to your chest as it is a set-in sleeve construction. Sleeves are then worked from the armhole down to the wrist. In order to get a proper fit at the shoulders, your back width is going to be the key in determining your size. But don’t worry, we’ve got your back with a guide on how to determine the right size for you :)
Let’s speak about the yarn now. Audrey from Teinturluree trusted me with this design and offered yarn support with my favorite base and colorway from her shop which is a beautiful fingering BFL base in the colorway “L’herbe Bleue”. I really wanted to have puffy sleeves so I chose this light BFL, but I’m pretty sure this garment will be stunning in a merino silk blend. You can find all of Audrey's treasures here: https://teinturluree.com/
I really hope you’ll join this adventure and dive into the world of adaptive patterns, or if you have ever done so before, join the fun too! The more the merrier
Happy knitting!
Elise.
