Hi !

Howdy y’all! Can you believe it’s already May? This year is flying by.

The weather is finally getting warmer here. Lake here I come! I can’t wait. My diva of a dog is not a big fan of the water, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to get her to swim. She is less than impressed.

In book news, I figured out what my problem was. I had written myself into a corner and had no idea how to get myself out of it. I am in a live mini edit class where I get what I have written edited live every other week. For the last two classes, instead of having her edit, I’ve just picked her brain and bounced ideas off of her. Since I’m a pantser, I had no real plan where the book was going. I had the five key plot points, but no plan on how to get from point A to point B. Together, we figured out that all this time, I’ve been writing the wrong story.

Kiara fought the external in book one, now she needs to fight the internal. Only I wasn’t writing that. Turns out I’ve been writing Maddy’s story.

So back to the drawing board. Bad news is I have to start over. The good news is that I will have a much better book when it’s finished with a satisfying end. Since this will be the last book I’m writing from Kiara’s perspective. And book three is half written for when I get there.

So, I’m asking you to bear with me while I work through these struggles and get this figured out. New writer problems. I promise it will all be worth it in the end.
