What is Keeping you stuck ?

Continuing on our exploration.
Let's explore a question that often pops up at random, unrelated, and unexpected times: Why do I feel stuck even after 10 years of experience?
This is Because.
There is no easy answer. Ten years automatically does not qualify you to have ready-made answers; on the contrary, having more than ten years in a particular field can make it all the more annoying, reminding you of the time that has already gone by, and still here you are exploring an answer!
Okay,
Before we move ahead, let me share an interesting fact that might soothe your annoyance a bit. Which is: What may have kept us stuck has very little to do with revisiting the past beyond our control, and more to do with a lack of awareness and capacity to let go of things that don't serve you.
This runs deep.
Unless you are aware, you cannot let go, and unless you let go, you cannot unstuck, and unless you unstuck, you cannot excel.

Let me explain
We are all aware that change is inevitable, and everything that surrounds us at every level is in a constant flow of change, whether we like it or not, or we pay attention to it or not, the process of change is ongoing and will continue to be until the end of everything!
Following the same principle, our lives are no different and are constantly undergoing change, both at the external and individual levels.
Org changes are apparent and are announced, while changes at a role or individual level are often subtle and hidden.
The complex part begins with becoming aware of the subtleties at the individual role level, and then reconciling it with what we want in our career at this point and then also aligning with what matters to us , which is the most tricky and the difficult part.
Not many are able to do so.
As a result, we find ourselves a bit stuck and then eventually totally stuck, as if stuck in a quagmire (A difficult, complex, or messy situation that’s hard to escape or resolve)
My story :
After having a successful stint with recruitment, when a major change hit my role and service line, what I most lacked was awareness of these "subtleties". I was required to ask myself, what notions do I need to let go of that are holding me back from giving my best to this role?
I was unaware; I had not answered it, so I struggled with it till the last day & felt stuck despite 10+ years of experience.
So,
What's the way out?
It depends on how thick you are into it, how many years of neglect this has been and how committed you are to invest and find your way out of it .
But before this, you need to ask yourself:
- What (beliefs, attitude and approach) do I need to let go of?
- What's New needs to be replaced with what Iam letting go of?
This whole practice of letting go is so key because.
Our brain is like a storage room with limited space. Old beliefs are like old furniture sitting there. When we try to bring in new beliefs without removing or reshaping the old ones, the room gets cluttered — and nothing fits properly. That’s why holding on tightly to both old and new beliefs at the same time often creates confusion, stress, and inner conflict.
If you want to unstuck, you need first to let go and then create a path for new beginnings.
