A Personal Note:

I was raised to keep personal things private, handle what needs to be handled in silence, and move on. This is what's most comfortable for me. However, when the consequences seep beyond the personal, I feel I owe an explanation.

Growing up, I had three important women in my life. My mother as well as my maternal grandmother and my aunt who lived with us until I was eleven. I am a product of their joint efforts, their diverse views, and their unwavering support. None of them are young. My grandmother is 98, my mother and aunt are both 77. Age brought health issues, as it does, but this is the first time we've had to deal with them at the same time.

In the last two weeks, they have each faced emergency health issues that have me primed to fly at a moment's notice. While I'm writing every day, my productivity is down as I try to do my part from a distance, and if I do have to go home, the words will be even less.

I'm sharing this because I had to change my next two releases. The preorder for Controlled Burn has been moved to November 18th and the preorder for Restoring Faith has been canceled. While I do believe I will get the next Kindred book out this year, I cannot meet the deadlines I set. I hope you understand.
