Hi all,

Okay, I am going to let you in on a HUGE secret! I am writing the sequel to Kissing the Player. This is about the identical twins' sister, Selena. This is her life in college after dating Jordan for several years and breaking up with him. This also includes Ashley Rhodes, the mean girl from Kissing the Right Guy.

Here goes nothing... here is the first chapter. It hasn't gone through an editor or beta reader, or anything really. This is just my raw writing. My heart and soul. Okay, I'll shut up so you can read it.

Chapter One

Selena

I miss him. I’ll always miss him. He was my boyfriend for so many, many years. He forgot about me. Moved on to someone new. I’m old news. Ancient history. Yesterday’s soggy toast. You get the picture.

He doesn’t need me. He’s drop-dead-gorgous. He’s probably at the beach right now, showing off his ripped abdomen. And I bet his new girlfriend is rubbing tanning oil on his biceps, and he’s probably gawking at her six pack. And of course she’s probably wearing her atypical pink string bikini, taking a selfie to post to her Instagram account, where her millions of followers are waiting to bend to her every beck and call.

Now my instagram? It’s a public account with nine followers. And I followed eighty people. You know what that is? Basic. That’s the story of my life. Basic. Bare bones. Nothing fancy or special about me. Nothing exotic to make the boys want more…

I shook my head. I had to snap out of it. I had class in two minutes and I needed to get there as fast as I could. It was my senior year at UCLA, and I was beyond excited to be taking my first novel writing class. I had always wanted to write a book, but never had the guts to even try until now.

I slid into my seat and the teacher said in a loud, booming voice, “Okay, class, settle down.” He took a moment to smile, his feet dangling as he sat on the edge of his desk. “Are you excited to write fiction together? We are going to tell lies!”

“Sounds like the type of therapy I could use,” an all too familiar voice said, coming from the seat behind me.

The teacher laughed and carried on, going over the syllabus.

I turned around. I lifted an eyebrow and asked in a hushed whisper, “Jordan?!”

“In the flesh, baby,” he said with a cocky grin.

I allowed my jaw to drop. “Are you lost?” Way to play it cool, Selena.

“No.” He leaned back in his chair and laughed. “Are you lost?”

I grimaced. “Definitely not.”

“Okay, then it’s meant to be,” he said, making me think his statement held a double meaning. Why were exes always like this?

“Excuse me, is there something you two would like to share with the rest of the class?” the teacher asked playfully.

“Selena and I were just talking about how we want to co-author a romance novel together if that’s okay with you, professor,” Jordan said with a wide grin.

“That’s not–”

I was cut off. “As long as you both meet your word count and stick to the class’s plot structure, then I don’t see any problem with that. In fact, why don’t you two meet after class and discuss this further. Case closed?” The teacher asked with a wide grin. “Okay, what student will be my next victim? I’m ready to pick on someone,” the professor said with a laugh.

“As long as it’s not me,” I mumbled.

Jordan laughed. It was a sexy sound that lit my insides on fire. What I wouldn’t do to hear that sound on repeat. He infuriated me and gave me goosebumps all at the same time. I didn’t know what to make of that.

The teacher went on throughout the rest of class cracking jokes and teasing various class members. He was a lovable guy, but did he have to go along with Jordan’s idea?

Class ended. Jordan walked out of the classroom, and I caught up to him in the hallway. “Hey,” I said, out of breath. “What was that all about?”

“Whatever do you mean, Selena?”

He smirked. It was more of a smolder than anything. It was the same look that won me over back in high school. There was no way I was getting over him. No matter how badly I wanted to.

I threw my hands in the air. “I mean, how could you crash my class, all of a sudden decide you’re my co-author, oh and if that’s not enough, you made it a romance we are working on.”

“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” He grinned and my heart turned to mush. He wasn’t playing fair. How could he smile such a sexy breath-taking grin and expect me to hold it all together? Because I swear I was fighting a smile.

Snap out of it, Selena. “It is a bad thing. You’re in love, remember? The influencer?” I laughed sarcastically. “Ring a bell?”

“Oh, yeah, her,” he mumbled. “What was her name again?”

“Ashley Rhodes. She went to our high school and dated Jake Austin, the celebrity guy?” I raised my eyebrows. “What are you playing at? Do you think I’m blind? I see her posting every two seconds. She literally licked your face in one of her pictures.”

“Funny story. About that…”

“Jordan, Selena, is everything okay? I expect your best work on this book you’re co-authoring,” Professor Nash said as walked by.

“Saved by the bell,” Jordan mumbled through a forced grin. “Will do. We are already working on making this book bestseller material.”

“That’s what I like to hear.” Professor Nash smiled with a nod and walked out of earshot.

“Bestseller material? Really? Like we even know where to begin when it comes to advertising!”

“Chill. I have connections.”

“Right. Your sister?”

“Hey, she really is a bestselling author. Not to mention her book sales pay all her bills. She is literally making a living as an author. Hence, why I joined this class.”

“So you’re ready to become the next Nicholas Sparks like we talked about back in high school?” Okay, the idea of him becoming famous as an author was beyond hot.

“You better believe it. If my sister can make it as a romance author, can you even imagine the type of damage I could do? I mean, just look at me.”

“Oh, I’m looking at you.”  I lifted a seductive eyebrow.

“Do you like what you see?”

I shook my head and laughed. “Does it matter? You’re taken.”

“It matters if you let it matter,” he said in a husky tone.

He took a step closer to me, and he was so close I could feel his breath on my lips. “Jordan…”

A look of recognition crossed his features and I could tell he was thinking of her. His real love. “I should probably get to my next class.”

I stumbled backward. “Right.”

He took a few steps off into the distance before I called out, “Wait.”

Can she keep her mermaid tail a secret from the lifeguard capturing her heart?

Ella

I have a secret. Every time I come in contact with salt water, I pop a tail.

Because of that secret, my parents will hardly let me out of the house. So when my mom tells me I’m grounded, it doesn’t even faze me. She’s always busy partying on yachts, anyway. It’s not like she will know the difference if I sneak out.

Next thing I know, I’m at the beach, meeting up with a lifeguard I spent the majority of the summer crushing on. Everything about him makes me feel happy and safe. But I can’t ignore the fact that if I get too attached to him, he might discover my secret.

William

Because of my mom’s physically abusive boyfriend, I’ve been forced to leave my own home. I’ve been sleeping at the beach for the past several days.

Ella Paxton is the main girl who’s been on my mind for weeks. That’s why I’m shocked when she finds out about my situation and begs me to move into her guest house. That is, without her parents’ permission.

You could say I’m playing hard to get.

Did you love reading Kissing the Player and Kissing the Wrong Twin? Kissing the Skater Boy is the sequel! Here is what it's about.

A cocky skater boy. A studious newspaper editor. Enemies can still attract, right?

It all started at our small private school, Hidden Shores Academy, on the first day. The new kid was texting as he came down the stairs. His longboard slipped out of his fingers, smacking me right in the face.

His first reaction should have been to check if I was okay, but no, his gut instinct told him to check and see how his precious board survived the attack.

Of course, he ended up in almost all my classes.

No matter what I do, he keeps finding ways to talk to me.

But I’m not interested in him. I’m trying to stay focused on my position as head editor of my high school’s newspaper.

I have dreams to chase. I’m applying for a Journalism scholarship. I don’t have time for a know-it-all boy like Justin.

Besides, I had a boyfriend before. It didn’t end well.

The last thing I want is more drama, and I can tell by the smug grin on the skater boy’s face that he’s full of it.

He may be my worst enemy, but there’s something about the way he hasn’t given up on me that makes me wonder if he’s not that bad after all.
