Hey there,
I just got back the other day and I thought you might like to see some photos of my recent trip to Lisbon, Portugal. I hope they inspire you and excite you to take action towards your next trip abroad. Life honestly is short after all. And if you're really into travel and looking for inspiration, then check out the whole google drive folder of photos here.
I have always been obsessed with these yummy desserts! I got to go to the actual place where they originated some few hundred years ago!
Checking things off your bucket list just feels so good, doesn't it? Well I know it does. And I've always wanted to go to Portugal. Its been on my bucket list since I was 22 years old when my best friend at the time Nelson told me all about his home country Portugal and its rich history and heritage. (Not to mention his moms amazing yummy cooking always had me salivating!)
The travel tourism board's slogan for Portugal is "the country where the sun chose to live." Come On! What a good one!... And accurate.
From the delicious wine, savory fish and seafood dishes, beaches and sweets, I was entranced with the prospect of visiting this country rich in heritage! And it did not disappoint. I mean wow... I ate incredibly well and on a budget too! Portugal is known to be a very inexpensive place and easy to accommodate travelers. A lot of the country speaks English too, thanks to it being taught early on in schools.
I had fantastic coffee every morning no matter where I was.
Here's some highlights: Beautiful beaches, strong coffees, rich history and culture, the beloved Fado music, ancient castles, central park like parks, day trips walking for hours, the sun following me everywhere, the birthplace of the 'Pastel De Nata' (above) - one of my all time favourite sweet treats, Port wine for desert, good European beer on draft (including a few German beers sometimes! So good!), plenty of castles, cobblestone streets and something wonderful I didn't see coming - a deep history of the Knights Templars and Freemasons. Some say its the birthplace of the Templars. (Think red and white crosses everywhere. Many on this Tower of Belem below.)
And I met some amazing people on a tour: A lovely Australian couple, a fellow Canadian, an Italian (who knew my dads small hometown in Italy) and a Romanian girl with wild eyes made out of silver from Bucharest.
What a great trip! And I'm so glad I went! And I will have to go back for the Algarve region, Porto and the Azores.
Did you know I made an online course that helps people discover, "Is It Time to Move?" There are so many places that you could live and move to for a better life, and it can be easier than you think. In the western world there's a ton of concerns plaguing every day people: from the rising costs of living, out of control inflation, interest rates, safety, health, security, and more - its worth it to examine the question "Is It Time To Move?" - in order to live a much, much, much better quality of life. I did it and you can too. Is It For You? Check It Out here.
Thanks for reading (and viewing),
Michael
PS: When the course is fully finished in the next few weeks, the price will go up, so if you're curious, take advantage of it now.
