Hi,

I hope you are keeping well. Do skip to the end for book offers if my burbles don't interest you. Also, if you wish to unsubscribe, there is a button at the foot of the email.

Life here has been busy, as usual. I re-acquired my (now wobbly) grandparents' oak gateleg table from my daughter. I disassembled it, labelling every joint to make sure I got it all back in the right order, then re-glued it. Now it is rock solid. The tops still bears the scar of a flat iron used by my grandmother before the war.

I cleared out a pile of reference books from my study the other day. I never suspected I would one day do this, but with information being available at the touch of a button on the internet, some of those books hadn't been opened in years. So, with two shelves of space, I was able to unpack a box of items collected over many years: shells, fossils, crystals, etc. These also haven't seen daylight for nearly fifteen years, and it was a tear-jerking moment when I unwrapped a piece of pottery made by my sister, who died in a motor accident many years ago.

Reviewing Fiction

Hidden Gems has provided me with some great reviews, and I also review for them myself. They are seeking more reviewers, particularly for thrillers.

If any of you would sign up to Reedsy Discovery as a reader, and provide just one review of a promoted book, I would receive the benefit of a further review opportunity for one of my own novels. Do follow either of these links if you're interested.

My thanks to everyone who reviewed The Silence of Children, but if you haven't yet, I'd be really grateful if you could take the time do do so. Preferably on Amazon or Goodreads. And if you enjoyed the story, and are prepared to sign up for the sequel, I'd be most chuffed. I'm well into the sequel, by the way, and have a strong plot idea for the third book.

I haven't read any novels in the following offers. If you find a good one, let everyone know, and thank the author with an online review. If you get one that is in dire need of editing, let the author know.
