Hi,

It looks as if we are in for a sunny September, which will be welcome, as my mother (91) is due to arrive in 2 days. She will need our living room as a bedroom, so lots of shifting around is in order - where does that dust come from? I've been laid low this last couple of weeks with some kind of cold - or the new COVID variant, who knows? - which left me breathless and exhausted, not to mention fed up! Thank goodness it's on its way out, and I can assume I'm not infectious any longer.

Our oldest cat (11), Bernie Boy, was enjoying the sun one day, and was gone the next. Discovered by my neighbour in a field alongside a road, we assumed he had been knocked down. There wasn't a mark on him, and we'll never know. So, last month a new kitten turned up, this month Bernie Boy has a final resting place under an Ash tree in our field...

Bookouture will be publishing my women's fiction, dual timeline series starting next April (under the name Daisy O'Shea - pronounced O'Shay). I am presently beavering away at the second book for the series, and will have started the third before the first one is published. I find it strange that they think the series 'Suffer the Little Children' is not suitable for their imprint as they publish thrillers and crime fiction. My series contains no explicit or gratuitous detail, so who knows how their minds work...
