We began this journey several years ago aimed at helping clients improve the quality of their life with cannabis as a treatment option. We have had a great fortune and opportunity to be a partner in so many people’s healthcare that it is truly humbling. As time, regulations and the world are ever-changing, we too, must adjust our service level and offers. This email will help explain how this will affect you and what you can expect to change.

Over the past several years, we were fortunate to have relationships with physicians to help clients create and evaluate their treatment plans with cannabis. As time goes on, it is increasingly difficult to continue our focus and drive on what our passion is, which is education and providing the best support for clients seeking to include cannabis in their treatment plan. In the fall of 2020, we began the discussion with Avail Cannabis and Justin Whitehall about a collaborative relationship between Simcoe Holistic Health and Avail Cannabis.

Justin & Avail have been providing cannabis specialty services with a focus on those with chronic pain and for military veterans. Avail has compiled a team of medical experts and is well suited to manage even more clients. Through our collaborative discussions, it became evident that the strength of Avail was its clinical expertise, reach and capacity. While our strength remains focused on the client’s journey coupled with a superior educational offering.

With this understanding, we have decided to fine-tune the focus of our services and limit the work we provide to education only. We no longer have the capacity or ability to sustainably deliver the clinical services required for our clients. As a result, Avail Cannabis will be resuming the care for our clients. We have structured our relationship to be as seamless as possible to facilitate an easy transfer of your care to Avail Cannabis. Moving forward, medical appointments for new and renewal patients as well as any adjustments to treatment plans will be facilitated by Avail Cannabis. To ensure a seamless transfer and the protection of your privacy, your medical records will be retained within the electronic medical records system that has been used at Simcoe Holistic Health since inception. Avail Cannabis will be directly accessing these records and will become the health care custodian of these records. If you do not wish to allow Avail access to your records, please respond directly to us by April 1^st, 2021.

Moving forward, for any medical appointments with Avail, you will continue to schedule and see a medical doctor as you have in the past.
