I hope you have enjoyed the chilly sunshine today? Perfect! Now, let's kick back and relax as we explore two excellent articles. First up is an insightful piece written by Freddy Steele that takes a deep dive into positive and correctional training aspects of horsemanship, available now in our horsemanship library for members. And we're also taking it back to 2015 when Double Dan Horsemanship mastermind Dan James sat down with us for an interview.
Being the Best Thing for Your Horse
"Sometimes it can be hard to find the right balance of positive and correctional training in horsemanship approaches, both traditionally and using natural horsemanship methods. The ratio of one to another will also change depending on the horse you are training and their personality. Some people strictly use just positive training or just correctional training styles, but I think a combination of both is key in having a happy, responsive, obedient horse with the least amount of tension possible." ~ Freddy Steele
Interview with Dan James
Here's a throwback to 2015: we were excited to meet Dan James of Double Dan Horsemanship during his clinic at Oakridge Arena.
