Hello Scriptcase Champions,

Keep Pushing Forward with March’s Advanced Scriptcase Tips! 🌟**

Jamie here!

As March comes to a close, let’s take a moment to appreciate the incredible progress you’ve made. Whether you’ve tackled complex bugs or built innovative features, your hard work deserves a round of applause. To keep the momentum going, here’s an advanced tip to take your Scriptcase skills to the next level!

Advanced Tip: Conditional Formatting in Nested Grids

Elevate your nested grids by applying conditional formatting for deeper data insights. This advanced feature enhances readability and highlights critical information.

How To Do It:

  1. Set Up the Parent Grid: Ensure your parent grid is configured with a unique identifier to link child grids.
  2. Add Conditional Formatting to Child Grid: In the child grid application, use the onRecord event to apply dynamic styles. Example:
if ({status} == 'Overdue') { sc_field_color("status", "#FF0000"); // Highlight overdue items in red } elseif ({status} == 'Completed') { sc_field_color("status", "#00FF00"); // Highlight completed items in green }
  1. Link the Grids: Use the Fields > Links feature in the parent grid to pass data to the child grid dynamically.
  2. Test for Clarity: Ensure the formatting makes the data more actionable and easy to interpret.

Pro Tip:

Combine conditional formatting with grouped summaries in the child grid for a powerful, visually intuitive reporting tool.

Take It Further:

Integrate JavaScript for interactive hover effects or tooltips to give users deeper insights into the data without overwhelming the interface.
