Advanced Tip: Nested Grids with Drill-Down Insights

Take your data presentation to the next level by embedding nested grids with drill-down functionality. This advanced technique allows users to click on a row and instantly view related data in a child grid.

How To Do It:

1. Create the Parent Grid: Build a grid application as usual. Ensure the primary key for each row is included.
2. Build the Child Grid: Create another grid application displaying related data based on the parent grid’s key.
3. Link the Two Grids: Go to the parent grid’s Fields > Links section, and create a link to the child grid. Pass the primary key as a parameter.
4. Enable Drill-Down: Under Grid Settings, enable drill-down mode for seamless navigation.

Pro Tip:

Customize the child grid’s design to fit neatly within the parent grid for a polished, professional look. Use conditional formatting to highlight critical data points dynamically.

Take It Further:

Add dynamic filters to your parent grid, allowing users to slice and dice data on the fly before drilling down into details. Combine this with AJAX reload for a smooth, interactive experience.
