The Secret Sauce to Hiring (Hint: It's Like Marketing!)

I had a bit of an "aha!" moment with one of our hiring partners on Monday, and it completely shifted their perspective on hiring (and I think it might help yours too!).


For years, I've been successfully placing top-tier talent into tech companies since the late 1990s, to be exact!


Getting in front of SAP, Intel, Cisco, and France Telecom was fun in those days. Still, it was nowhere near as fun as today with LinkedIn, WhatsApp, video, YouTube, paid social media, job boards, and careers pages at our disposal.


It wasn't until recently that I realized just how much I love being creative with our marketing.


Think about it: you wouldn't launch a product without a marketing strategy, right?


You carefully define your target audience (Market), craft your message (Message), and choose the right channels (Media) to reach them.


But when it comes to hiring, business owners who do their own hiring often skip those crucial steps.


They post a generic job posting on Indeed and hope for the best. That's like launching a product with zero marketing!
