Pura Vida!
I wanted to pop into your inbox with a quick note about Costa Rican Independence Day.
If you haven't yet heard, we are celebrating 200 years of Independence on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
And that means 200 years of incredible Costa Rican food. To celebrate, I wanted to send out a list of my favorite Costa Rican recipes for you to make to celebrate this milestone. And if you are out of some of your favorite ingredients- not to worry, there's a sale on everything in our shop (see below).
AND BIG NEWS- I was able to bring a VERY popular Costa Rican ingredient to the US just in time for the holidays- but quantities are limited. I am the ONLY place you can get this- it's even sold out on Amazon! Get yours before I sell out- or before I put limited quantities on your purchases. 😂
Without further ado- these are best Costa Rican recipes to celebrate Independence day!
- Arroz con Pollo - the quintessential Costa Rican party food.
- Chifrijo - chicharron, beans, rice, chimichurri. PERFECTION.
- Empanadas- I love these as a quick snack to feed a crowd.
- Tamales- Typically Christmas food, but for those of us not living in Costa Rica, I make them to celebrate at all times of the year!
- Tres Leches - the absolute best dessert, and this recipe is to DIE FOR.
Speaking of Tres Leches, if you are in Denver, I'd love for you to head over to Raices Brewery on Sunday, September 19 from 12-6 to celebrate Costa Rica's Independence with the Costa Rican expat community.
My family will dance folklore at 3 pm and I'll be selling slices of my legendary Tres Leches, as well as all the food products and El Canto novelties I have in my store. Would LOVE to see you there!
SALE!
I'm offering a sale in the shop- you'll get 10% off all Costa Rican food products now through Sunday with the code ROMPOPE. What are you waiting for?
