SPRING CLEANING TO CREATE SPACE
In the April newsletter, I shared about alllll the things I was clearing out of my life emotionally, energetically, and physically. And those Spring Cleaning vibes continued in the past couple of weeks too. (Anyone relate?!)
Cleaned out the closet? Check! Buh-bye to all those things that I kept for no good reason other than "Maybe I'll wear it one day" or "Maybe I'll finally lose the weight to wear that again" or whatever the hoarder reason I was holding onto the things. Fine, full disclosure, I kept a few of the things because really, I do hope to lose the weight and wear them again LOL! *me eyeing those crop tops!*
Cleaned out under the bathroom sink? Check! Woah... Okay, I literally have 15 bottles of conditioner from when I snatched them up when they were on clearance for like $2 or something. And yes, "have" not "had" because *insert whatever hoarder-ish excuse I have here because I have a problem* LOL (Admitting it is the first step, right? ;) )
Cleaned my makeup/beauty supply area? Check! This deserves another "whoa" because it was... bad. Why did I have like a million lipsticks, lip glosses, creams, hair ties, headbands, nail polishes (many old/clumpy!), and so many other things that I never used or maybe used once like a zillion years ago?! Why?? Lol!
And it's insane because during this major cleaning/clearing out time, something huge happened... I finally had the strong, undeniable feeling that it was time for my boyfriend and I to move. This is huge because I've lived in this complex since 2012 (holy cuss words!) and my boyfriend and I have lived together in this same apartment since 2014.
I remember having this epiphany and then walking over to him at his computer desk and saying, "It's time. It's time for us to move." He looked at me and with a nod, said something like, "I know. It is."
We've talked about moving for years and years and getting a 2 bedroom place (instead of the 1 bedroom) but like never actually moved--mainly because of money. But as I said... It’s time. So, we had a discussion (okay, several) about it all—wish list items, nonnegotiables, like-to-haves, can-live-withouts… all of it and more!
We started looking up potential places in the area to get a feel for price points (if you didn’t know, we live in Southern California (between Los Angeles and San Diego) and to say it's expensive as hell is an understatement LOL!). It was a wild, emotional ride while we worked through some things, including how much more we'd be paying and what that meant, etc. but we navigated through it! (Shout out to that age old thing called *communication* lol ;) )
To keep this from being a book in itself, I'll just say we went on an mini home-hunting adventure and after a series of seriously uncanny, synchronistic events, we've decided to stick with the place we have at the moment and set the intention to save up to buy a home of our own one day!
Looking back at the past several weeks and alllll the things I’d been clearing from my life—mentally, physically, emotionally, energetically, I feel like it welcomed in what I believe will be this next phase of life for both me and my partner’s life journey as well as my own life journey.
Over the years, I've heard something along the lines of: Clearing things out, creates more space to welcome new things in.
So, I guess I'll end on this note: If you feel like it’s time to do some spring cleaning of your own—clearing out people/relationships, places, things—welcome it!
I believe there’s a reason why you’re feeling that way and here’s a friendly reminder to trust that feeling inside of you. Trust yourself. Trust your woman's intuition. She's got your back!
Until next time! :)
PS: If you're feeling called to read Calypso's Heart or Rhyker's Key then obviously I gotta say trust that feeling too! ;)

*SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT*
It’s official… DEACON & STARR will be joining me at the event!!!
Okay, not the real Deacon and Starr, as I’ve yet to meet the characters of Orion’s Order outside of the magical world inside my mind. ;)
So, who are these supposed Deacon and Starr that will be joining us at the event?
Well, allow me to introduce you!
Meet K’sa - AKA Marchesa!
Singer, songwriter, model, author, Jack of all trades, and… my sister and best friend!
If you’ve stalked my Pinterest, then you may have seen the extremely talented K’sa before!
PS: The resemblance between her and Starr is uncanny, right? That’s because this fiery Sagittarius inspired many aspects of the character Starr in Orion’s Order!
Find K’sa on Spotify here
Meet Pete - AKA Deacon!
6’2,” short sandy blonde hair, hot surfer body… For reals, this describes both Deacon in Orion’s Order and Pete!
Pete (Peter) Daniel Adams is a model and an actor, known for films Chasing Unicorns (2019), Iced Chosin (2021) and Arena (2021). He’s also been featured in TV/video commercials as well as various commercial prints, including romance book covers!
PS: K’sa and Pete are friends in real life and we can all thank K’sa for inviting Pete to join us at the event!! :)
EXCERPTS FROM MY ROMANCE DIARY
If you missed the April newsletter, here’s a quick recap: I feel called to share some raw and unedited “stream of consciousness” excerpts that were written 99% of the time upon waking and were my pretty much verbatim translations of the vivid dreams that came to me that night.
Some are steamy. Some are sweet. Some are emotional. Some are short. Some are long. Some are from the species world. Some are from other worlds. Some have more (lots more!) to the story and characters than the excerpt I’m sharing with you. And some of these stories may be written into a book and shared with you one day. ;)
Last month’s excerpt was called “Warrior God” and it’s short and S-T-E-A-M-Y!
This month’s is long—so long (about 3 thousand words) that I’m going to split it up into likely two parts in this and next newsletter.
I’m curious what you think of Kiera and the tiny dragon creatures! :)
The Dragon King
By M.C. Solaris
Author’s Note: I don’t actually know the heroine’s name yet. But I’m putting Kiera as I feel like this is right but it is subject to change as I write this story one day.
Also, I need to briefly set the scene for you:
The heroine is sitting on outside stone steps (possible second or third story high) in a private part of the castle. There are lush/tropical type of foliage and trees surrounding the steps, offering some shade to the warm sunlight.
She has managed to sneak away from the party unnoticed with a bowl of salad, some fruits, and trail mix.
She is thinking about things and her gaze drifts off into the trees. Suddenly, something touches her hand—the one holding the bowl of food—and she just about jumps clear out of her skin.
Looking down… she froze.
She was met with huge reptilian eyes of brightest blue. Well, huge in relation to the head and body. She blinked as the creature’s nostrils—like a horse: round and large—flared as it’s snout got closer and sniffed her hand again.
Those big, blue eyes kept flicking between her and the food.
The creature was like an adorable, tiny dragon with delicate wings. And despite being compared to the ancient, fire-breathing creatures from fantasy stories, the only big thing about the creature before her was those big, curious eyes that held a youthful air. The cute thing was the size of a house cat—it even had four legs with toes tipped with claws. And it’s reptilian skin held a patterned color scheme of bright blues, something akin to a rainforest reptile.
Clearly, it wanted food.
“Are you hungry?” She smiled.
Her voice seemed to startle it—the creature freezing for a split second, just as she’d done when she first discovered she wasn’t alone.
Those big blue eyes looked into hers as if it were trying to understand what the two-legged alien creature was saying.
Her smile grew wider with warm affection. “Let’s see.” She looked at her bowl. “What would you like?” For whatever reason, she plucked one of the creamy nuts and set it on the stone next to her.
Those nostrils flared several times in quick succession as it practically sucked it up like a vacuum. Then it struck, quick as a cobra—so fast it actually had her momentarily pause at the lethal beauty of the strike—but then she saw those big, almost innocent eyes on her as it gobbled up the offering.
The creature seemed to be the master of puppy dog eyes and was clearly not above begging.
She laughed quietly to herself so she didn’t scare the tiny thing. “What about fruit?” Placing a particularly juicy and sweet piece on the ground, she smiled as it did the sniff then gobble thing again.
“So, what else—”
With her heart suddenly jumping into her throat, her amused question was cut off with the feeling of something else at her other side. Her head whipped around to see another one of those same creatures sniffing her leg. Well, at least that’s what she thought it must’ve been doing before she apparently startled it with turning her head so fast.
This one had the same anatomical structure as the other but it was patterned with bright greens and viper green eyes to match.
“Ah, so let me guess. You were waiting back until that one checked out the weird, two-legged alien and determined the coast was clear, huh?” She smiled.
Soon, she was surrounded by several of the adorably tiny dragon creatures—like a huge puppy pile. They were on her legs, arms, and one was even on her shoulders. She’d long ago given up all the food to the creatures—a fair trade in her eyes.
And once the food was gone, the curious creatures seemed fascinated with her and those circular flared as they sniffed her—her hair, her exposed skin of hands and arms, her clothes. And the one on her shoulders bravely leaned in to catch the scent of her breath a couple of times.
“You sure are curious little things,” she chuckled, trying not to move too much as she didn’t want to startle them. Although, they clearly seemed a lot more comfortable with her now being that they were all over her and pulling a Dora The Explorer.
She felt the one on her shoulders—a vibrant violet color—test the taste of her hair while a gorgeous citrine-colored one pawed at the fabric of her pants. It’s claws were sharp and they were sure doing one hell of a number on her pants but those tiny knives didn’t break skin. It actually reminded her of a kitten still learning and discovering how and when to detract their growing claws—claws that one day would be able to inflict serious damage.
Huh. The thought had her looking at the creatures' cute, little pot bellies and those big, big eyes paired with their playfully curious nature. Just as she was wondering about their age, she jumped out of her skin for the second time—or was it third? And okay, fine, a stereotypical feminine yelp may have escaped too.
With that speed of a reptilian predator, all ten of the small creatures were suddenly standing at attention, hissing and growling, and shaking their tiny tails in an aggressive back and forth—releasing the slightest rattle sound like a snake.
Easily understanding their body language, her eyes went wide and she didn’t dare move a muscle…
