What Spotlight looks like in practice

Hi ,

I wanted to follow up and share a recent example of how Spotlight has been used with a leadership team as it often helps to see what this work looks like in real life.

I was asked to support a new leadership team at a community project who wanted to improve how they communicated, made decisions together, and worked effectively when not everyone could be present.

We used Spotlight profiles individually and collectively, followed by a facilitated team session. The focus wasn’t on fixing problems, but on understanding how each person thinks, communicates and contributes and agreeing clear ways of working together.

The outcome was a leadership team who:

  • were clear on how to communicate and make decisions together
  • trusted each other’s judgement and perspectives
  • had a shared understanding of what was needed next
  • felt confident enough for the everyone to step back, knowing decisions would be well considered as a collective.

They left the session feeling aligned, energised and genuinely appreciative of one another with a clear plan for moving forward.

What mattered most to the team was creating a safe, open environment where honest conversation could happen made all the difference. So much so that they have recruited another leader and she too is completing a profile to embed into the new team dynamics. I must say, their selection of the leader absolutely filled their empty chair!

This is the kind of work I’m now offering more intentionally, both as individual Spotlight refreshers and as a broader team-based approach.

If you’d like to:

  • revisit your own Spotlight profile (30-minute free call)
  • explore a refresher session (£150 throughout March)
  • or talk about how Spotlight could support your team further

You’re very welcome to reply to this email or book a short call below.
